Micro Cut Paper Shredders: Providing the Best Security for Sensitive Information

In the day-to-day corporate setting, one deals with several documents that are crucial to the success of your company’s operations. And while some of the documents that need to be saved and filed once the job is done, there are a number of papers that aren’t of any use, contain sensitive and confidential information and must hence be destroyed. This is where the multi-functional and highly utilitarian tool that are, shredders come into the picture.

Over the years, shredders have come a long way from being the unreliable document destroyer back in the 70s. Most of the modern day shredders can be banked upon to chop the files finely enough to make them indecipherable. A way to classify shredders is by the way they cut the paper, and there are three types of shredders to classify by this way: strip cut shredders, cross cut shredders and micro cut paper shredders.

The strip cut paper shredders were the pioneers of shredding systems, but have fallen down in the popularity charts over the years because they are highly insecure, cutting the papers into vertical strips. The cross cut shredder and the micro cut paper shredders use two contra rotating blades to shred documents in both vertical and horizontal directions, hence becoming the more sought after shredders. Cross cut shredders chop the papers into short, thin strips that usually measure 4x50mm. On the other hand, the micro cut paper shredders cut the papers into tiny diamonds that approximately measure 2x15mm.

The micro cut paper shredders provide by far the highest level of security to your documents. So, if you are dealing with highly sensitive information that must be destroyed thin enough that they can’t be pieced back together, the micro cut shredder is for you.
